»Sinus und Sägezahn – Elektronische Musik in Film und Video«
Industrie, Wissenschaft und Kunst sind sich seit jeher nah in Bezug auf die Erforschung und Anwendung neuer Technologien. Die elektronische Musik symbolisierte hierbei in besonderem Maße Modernität und Zukunftsorientierung: eine technische Musik für das technische Zeitalter. Anhand ausgesuchter Filmbeispiele beschreibt Florian Wüst das ambivalente Verhältnis von technischer Innovation, industriellem Auftrag und künstlerischem Experiment – von den Unternehmensfilmen der 1950er Jahre über die frühe Computerkunst bis zur postdigitalen Kultur.

»Sinus and Sawtooth – Electronic Music in Film and Video«
Industry, science, and art have always been close in terms of researching and applying new technologies. In this context, electronic music symbolizes modernity and future orientation: a technical music for a technical age. Using selected film examples, Florian Wüst describes the often ambivalent relationship between technical innovation, industrial mission, and artistic experimentation—from the
corporate films of the 1950s through early computer art to post-digital culture.

»Left Swipe Left – Dating Apps in der Pandemie«
Veränderungen von Begehren, Romantik und Intimität durch die Nutzung von Internettechnologien, insbesondere Dating-Apps, untersucht das Künstler-Duo in ihrem Podcast-Projekt »Left Swipe Left«. Diese künstlerische Forschung in Form einer nicht-fiktionalen Audio-Erzählung erstreckt sich auf einen Vergleich der Städte Bangalore und München. Shruti Rao und Abhishek Bommana halten sich im Rahmen der BangaloREsidency des Goethe-Institutes für mehrere Wochen in München auf. Die beiden Künstler*innen sind derzeit auf der Suche nach Interviewpartner*innen. In einem Werkstatt-Bericht geben sie Einblick in ihre Arbeit.

»Left Swipe Left – Dating Apps in a Pandemic«
Changes in desire, romance, and intimacy through the use of internet technologies, particularly dating apps, are explored by Shruti Rao and Abhishek Bommana in their podcast project Left Swipe Left. As part of the Gothe Institute’s BangaloREsidency expanded, the artist duo are spending several weeks in Munich. Their artistic research, which takes the form of a non-fictional audio narrative, extends to a comparison of their native Bangalore and the city of Munich. The artists are currently looking for interview partners. In this workshop report, they give an insight into their work.
